We build a plan around your child, your routines and your goals, then send the same technician on a consistent schedule to wherever your child is: your home, their daycare, their preschool classroom. Skills are taught in the places they need to be used, and parents and teachers are part of the sessions, not observers from the next room.
We serve Oxnard, Port Hueneme, Camarillo, Ventura and the surrounding communities, and we keep our caseload local so your technician is never rushing in from an hour away.

How it will work
We currently serve children ages 2 to 6. Most families come with a diagnosis already in hand and a referral or authorization on the way. If you are earlier than that, call us anyway. We will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit, what the next step is, and where we are on our own timeline.

Our BCBA meets your family at home or at your child's program, observes, and writes a treatment plan for your funder to authorize.
3. Sessions begin
A matched technician starts on a regular schedule, with the BCBA supervising and adjusting the plan as your child grows.

What is ABA therapy?
Applied Behavior Analysis is a teaching approach that breaks skills into small steps, practices them in the everyday places your child spends time, and uses your child's own motivation to make progress stick. It is the most researched autism intervention and is funded by Regional Centers, Medi-Cal and most insurers.
Do I need a diagnosis first?
For funded services, yes. Most families have a diagnosis from a pediatrician, Tri-Counties Regional Center or a developmental clinic. If you are still waiting on one, call us and we will point you to the fastest local route.
How many hours a week?
Your funder authorizes hours based on the assessment, commonly 10 to 25 hours a week for early intervention. We schedule those in blocks that fit your family's day, not ours.
Who will be working with my child?
A Registered Behavior Technician who is our W-2 employee, cleared through DOJ and FBI Live Scan, trained through our own academy, and supervised by our BCBA. We aim for the same technician every session. If a technician is not a fit for your child, tell us and we will change the match.
Will I pay anything?
No. We bill Tri-Counties, Medi-Cal, TRICARE or your commercial plan directly. If your plan has a copay, we tell you before the first session. We do not offer private pay and we are not contracted with Kaiser.
Can sessions happen at daycare or preschool?
Yes. If your child attends a daycare or preschool, we coordinate with the program so sessions happen there during the day. Many families split hours between home and school.
How soon can we start?
We expect to begin serving families in early 2027, once our funder approvals are in place. Join the waitlist and we will contact you in the order you signed up.
How will I know it is working?
Our technicians collect data every session, you can ask to see it at any time, and our BCBA reviews progress with you at every authorization renewal. If your child is not making progress, the plan changes.
Do you attend IEP meetings or work with the school district?
Not yet. We are not a district contracted provider. We will coordinate with your child's daycare or preschool and share strategies with teachers, but we do not provide school district services at this time.
What is your cancellation policy?
Life with a young child is unpredictable and we plan for it. Let us know as early as you can and we will reschedule. Repeated missed sessions do affect your funder's authorization, so we will talk with you if it becomes a pattern.
Become a behavior technician
The Channel Islands ABA Academy is our own online training program. You complete the coursework on your phone or laptop, on your schedule, then finish the hands-on portion with our BCBA. When you pass the RBT exam, you are offered a position with us as cases open.
We hire from Ventura County for Ventura County. Childcare workers, teacher's aides, recent graduates and people returning to work do well here. Sessions take place in homes, daycares and preschools, so people who are already comfortable around young children fit right in. No prior ABA experience is required.

We are hiring our clinical director for Ventura County now, ahead of payer enrollment, so your credentials anchor the applications. The role is designed for a BCBA who already runs a practice and wants to keep it, or who wants clinical work without running a company.
Channel Islands ABA is locally owned and not backed by private equity. We are building our own online platform so that the parts of agency work that eat a clinician's week happen somewhere else.

Who we are
Channel Islands ABA is a new, locally owned agency based in Oxnard. It is being built by a locally based founding team, together with a clinical director we are hiring now and a small team building our online platform.
We started this because families in Ventura County wait too long for services and technicians leave the field too fast. Both problems have the same fix: pay technicians properly, train them well, keep cases close to home, and give the clinician time to actually supervise.
Locally owned
No private equity, no out-of-county management. Decisions are made in Oxnard by people who answer the phone.
